Large Block Paved Parking Area
A full rear parking area with room for several vehicles.
Open areas like this have nowhere for water to run to unless it is designed in, and nothing to hold the blocks in place unless the perimeter is properly restrained.
What the job involved
Reduced level dig across the whole area with the spoil taken off site, then Type 1 laid and compacted in layers to a depth suited to repeated vehicle movements rather than a single parked car.
Falls were set to run away from the buildings and the boundary, edge restraints haunched in concrete all round, and the blocks laid random with the cuts kept to the perimeter where they are least visible.
