Landscaping
Driveway, Lawn and Planted Borders
A whole frontage done as one job — drive, turf and planting together.
Front gardens are usually done in pieces — drive one year, grass the next, planting when somebody gets round to it. Done together it costs less and finishes considerably better, because the levels only get set once.
What the job involved
Excavation and sub-base for the driveway, with the block paving run in a sweeping curve rather than squared off, and a brick edging course holding the line between paving and lawn.
The lawn areas were graded, topsoiled and turfed to finish flush with the edging so there is no lip to catch a mower. Borders were formed, mulched and planted, and a tree pit dug properly rather than the tree being pushed into a hole in compacted subsoil.
