Two-Tier Lawn, Sandstone Paving and Outdoor Kitchen

A complete garden transformation, and a good example of why the levels get decided before anything else. The two curved lawns, the paths between them and the covered structure at the top all had to resolve to one another.

What the job involved

Clearance and muck away first, then the levels re-graded and the drainage sorted. Ducting for power and lighting to the outdoor kitchen was run before any surfacing went down — retro-fitting it means lifting paving you have just paid for.

Sandstone paving laid on a full bed with a contrasting block course edging both lawns, which holds the curve crisply and gives the mower a hard edge. The timber structure sits on its own base, sized for the filled weight of the hot tub, with the posts on galvanised anchors.

Turf went down last, once every other trade was finished.
